What brought you to London?
To have a new experience, improve my English and meet new people.
How long have you been living here?
For one month.
How did you hear about LHA and volunteering?
Through a friend.
Describe a typical ‘day in the life of a volunteer’ at LHA?
My duties are for 20 hours a week and then I have time to explore the city
What do you like best about being a volunteer?
It gives you the opportunity to live in the centre of London.
What has it taught you / experience gained?
It certainly helps you to communicate in a language that is not your own.
Any funny stories?
When I got to the hostel, I was so nervous that I could not even find my room.
What’s your London secret (best place to go/visit)?
A place you MUST visit when you arrive in London is definitely Camden Town – the atmosphere is absolutely amazing.
Advice you’d give to any young person thinking of coming to London to work or study and volunteer at LHA?
Take it easy. Maybe at first it takes a bit of time to adapt but you’ll soon realise the great opportunities that London living can offer.
